Crooked kingdom and six of crows7/2/2023 I know this is a review only of the second book, but please excuse me if I speak about the entire duology as a whole anywhere. The biggest asset of this duology is its characters as well as characterization. If my review of Six of Crows did not convince you to pick this up anyway, I totally suggest you do so because I promise, it’s one hell of a ride. This book was a phenomenal sequel, never faltering and wrapping up everything satisfactorily and yet leaving the reader dying for more. Maybe I’m feeling this way because I finished it just a few hours ago, but looking back to Six of Crows, and how that book still roams around in my mind even though it’s been quite a few weeks since I read it, I don’t think Crooked Kingdom will lose its shine that easily. A war will be waged on the city’s dark and twisting streets―a battle for revenge and redemption that will decide the fate of magic in the Grisha world. As powerful forces from around the world descend on Ketterdam to root out the secrets of the dangerous drug known as jurda parem, old rivals and new enemies emerge to challenge Kaz’s cunning and test the team’s fragile loyalties. Double-crossed and left crippled by the kidnapping of a valuable team member, the crew is low on resources, allies, and hope. But instead of divvying up a fat reward, they’re right back to fighting for their lives. Kaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn’t think they’d survive.
